Greenery – Pantone Color 2017
Here at Latitude 33 Flowers we are very pleased to see the Pantone Color for 2017 is Greenery!
Some years recently have seen very unusual offbeat shades chosen for this honor (Radiant Orchid, Marsala), and some colors which are very difficult to match successfully to flower tones (looking at you, Turquoise).
This year, the company has chosen a color which it believes reflects the emotional state of the world – and maybe a little of what it needs right now.
Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.
Happily Greenery is a perfect match for all kinds of foliage and … well… greenery! That’s great news for the flower industry. Leafy foliage-strong weddings and events are right on trend this year, with leaves no longer in the background but pushing their way to center stage where they belong.
Brides and grooms are choosing foliage chandeliers, garlands, table runners, green walls, and even all-green bouquets.
Beautiful unique foliages from Australia, such as Umbrella Fern, Emu Fern and Koala Fern, are so suited to rustic, wildflower, woodsy themes, with their soft green colouring and airy light appearance.
Unusual textural flowers and fillers from South Africa, such as the green buttons of Berzelia, and long stems of Leucadendron, will add a strong green focal element to bouquets and arrangements.
